Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Xenqr

General

What are dynamic QR codes?

Dynamic QR codes are QR codes whose destination URL you can change at any time without reprinting the code. Unlike static QR codes that link directly to a URL, dynamic codes redirect through our service, allowing you to adjust the destination flexibly.

How do dynamic differ from static QR codes?

Static QR codes contain the URL directly in the code. Once printed, they cannot be changed. Dynamic QR codes redirect through a short URL that you can update anytime. Additionally, dynamic codes provide detailed analytics.

Do QR codes work offline?

The QR codes themselves work offline and can be scanned without an internet connection. However, the user's smartphone needs an internet connection to be redirected to the destination URL.

What formats can I download QR codes in?

You can download your QR codes as PNG. In the Pro plan, we additionally offer SVG and PDF print sheets for professional printing.

Pricing & Plans

Is the Free plan really free?

Yes, the Free plan is 100% free and will remain so. You can create up to 3 QR codes and track 500 scans per month. No credit card required, no hidden costs.

Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?

Yes, you can switch between plans at any time. When upgrading, you'll be charged proportionally. When downgrading, your current plan continues until the end of the period and is then automatically adjusted.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as SEPA direct debit via Stripe. PayPal will be available soon.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes! If you're not satisfied, you can request a full refund within 30 days – no questions asked.

What happens if I exceed my scan limit?

Your QR codes will continue to work. We'll notify you by email and suggest an upgrade. There are no automatic additional charges.

Features & Functions

Can I customize the design of my QR codes?

Yes! You can change colors, insert your logo, and adjust the error correction level. The Pro plan offers even more design options.

How does scan tracking work?

Every time someone scans your QR code, we anonymously capture the time, device type, browser, location (city/country), and referrer. All data is GDPR compliant and contains no personal information.

What are UTM parameters and why do I need them?

UTM parameters are tags appended to your URL (e.g., ?utm_source=qrcode). They help you see in Google Analytics where your visitors come from. Perfect for marketing campaigns!

Can I use my own domain for my QR codes?

Yes, in the Pro and Team plans you can connect your own domain (e.g., qr.yourcompany.com) via CNAME. This makes your QR codes even more professional.

Do you offer an API?

Yes, in the Team plan you get access to our REST API. This allows you to programmatically create, manage QR codes and retrieve analytics.

Privacy & Security

Is Xenqr GDPR compliant?

Yes, 100%! Our servers are located in Germany, we only collect anonymized data, don't set tracking cookies without consent, and have a data protection officer. You can use Xenqr confidently for your business.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored exclusively on servers in Germany (EU). We don't use cloud services outside the EU.

Can I export my data?

Yes, you can export all your data as CSV at any time (in the Pro plan). You can also request a complete data export through settings (GDPR right to data portability).

What happens to my QR codes when I delete my account?

When you delete your account, all your QR codes are deactivated and lead to a 404 page. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted.

Technical

How long do my QR codes stay active?

As long as your account is active, your QR codes remain functional. There's no expiration date. Even in the Free plan.

Is there a limit on scans?

The number of scans per month is limited by plan (Free: 500, Pro: 50,000, Team: 200,000). Individual QR codes have no scan limit.

Can I edit QR codes afterwards?

Yes! You can change the destination URL, design, UTM parameters, and all other settings at any time – the QR code itself remains the same.

Do you support bulk operations?

Yes, in the Team plan you can edit, delete, or export multiple QR codes simultaneously. Bulk imports are also possible via API.
